Supplying your own artwork
Supplying your own
artwork and what is appropriate.
Here are some guidelines should you wish to
supply your own artwork.
By artwork, we mean, a digital file from
which we can produce a printing plate. It
may consist of type, graphic objects and
scanned images, and will usually incorporate
trim marks. It may also consist of colour
separations with registration marks.
Artwork does not mean previously printed
copies of business cards, letterheads or
other stationery.
Media Accepted
We can accept documents and images supplied
on DVD Rom, CD, Zip Disk, Floppy, by email
or use our website upload image system.
Photographs and hard copy of logos/graphics
can be supplied for scanning by us. If you
are supplying a logo for scanning, it should
be as large as possible (max. A4) and on a
white background, clean and sharp, not
folded. We can accept photographs in black
and white or colour, transparencies &
negatives. Images/photographs that have
already been commercially printed are not
suitable for scanning as they have already
been screened into dots and will not
reproduce well.
We can accept your
artwork in these formats.
Image Picture File Formats Accepted
We accept the most popular formats such as
those following.
.eps .ai .tiff .jpg .pdf .bmp .psd .pdd .pcx
.wmf .pct .pic
.sct .ct .pcd .fpx .iff
.flm .pxr .png .tga .vda .icb .vst .raw
Image Quality
With all images, 72dpi is not acceptable
(this is only suitable for web use).
If you are sending line art (a drawing or
graphic), minimum resolution should be
300dpi, preferably 600-1200dpi and be at
least the same size as you wish it to be
printed.
For photographs, the resolution should be at
least 200dpi and again be at least the same
size as you wish it to be reproduced. If the
image needs to be enlarged, increase the
scanning resolution accordingly (e.g. 200%
of original, double the resolution).
