WFDYS Visit - October 2013

In October 2013, the Victorian Deaf community hosted two young international Deaf guests, Ana Navas from Spain and Jannicke Kvitvaer from Norway. They are board members of the World Federation of the Deaf - Youth Section.

Ana and Jannicke will be attending various events to meet the Deaf community and talk about their experiences from their home countries and with World Federation of Deaf Youth Section.

Here’s a video from the WFDYS Visit Organising Committee.

Transcript:

This video is to update you about what’s happening with the WFDYS events in October! We have three things to tell you about the WFDYS events.

First, the WFDYS board members - who are the two members visiting Melbourne before they fly to Sydney for the WFD conference? They are two girls, Ana Navas from Spain and Jannicke Kvitvaer from Norway. They both have lots of experience in advocacy and leadership in Europe and in the world. So the information they will share when they visit will be invaluable!

Second, we’ll announce who was the young person successful in receiving assistance from Deaf Victoria and Vicdeaf to attend the WFD conference in Sydney. This person is Miranda Reardon. She impressed us with her strong commitment to Deaf Youth leadership. Congratulations Miranda!

Third: We have some exciting news – we now have our own logo for the WFDYS visit. What will this logo be used for? To show the events that will be happening during the WFDYS visit. So this logo will be popping up over the next few months when we share more information about what will be happening in October!

Watch this space for more updates about the WFDYS visit!
