Auslan Program for Schools

Expression Australia now offers an Auslan program for schools from Prep to Year 12. This program is consistent with VELS Standards and Progression Points.

The program aims to provide school children with an opportunity to learn a language that is used in their own community. Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the language of the Australian Deaf community. Students will also learn about the culture of the Deaf community. Auslan provides students with excellent visual communication skills. Teachers are encouraged to get involved with the classes so that they are able to assist the students in retaining the language through the rest of the school week.

We can create a customised curriculum to meet the needs of your students. Please contact the office to discuss implementing Auslan classes at your school.

For more information please contact our Learning and Training Coordinator on (03) 9473 1111 or auslan@expression.com.au.
