Scheduling Specialist - Interpreting

Expression Australia is a leading provider of Language Services, providing Auslan/English Interpreting, Deaf Interpreting, live captioning, note taking, transcription and translation services to a broad range of clients including people who are Deaf and hard of hearing, Government services, private sector businesses, education institutions, Health service and community service providers.

The Scheduling Specialist - Interpreting is also responsible for managing the allocation/rostering of the workforce and providing general information and day to day support. This role operates in a team environment, in a highly demanding service area where problem-solving, resilience and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide customer service, information and advice to clients about Expression Australia Services, and assist them with managing their booking requests.
  • Manage the administration of booking requests, ensuring that staff are allocated/assigned to booking requests according to client preferences, their skill level and the nature of the assignment.
  • Manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks, work within a team, and seek advice and support where needed

About you:

  • Knowledge of the Deaf community and barriers faced by people who are deaf, Deafblind and hard of hearing.
  • An understanding of Auslan and language variation.
  • Fluency in Auslan with lived experience or formal qualifications is highly desirable; or Diploma of Auslan.
  • Customer Service and Administration experience.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment, manage stress and maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.
