Board Announcement: CEO Christine Mathieson will be leaving Expression Australia

  • 14 February, 2020

The Board of Directors of Expression Australia has an important announcement, delivered by Gavin Balharrie, President and Deputy Chair.

‘On behalf of the Board of Directors I have an important announcement.

It is with sadness that I inform you that Christine Mathieson advised the Board that she is resigning from her role as CEO at Expression Australia. After almost 7 and a half years, Chris will take up a new role as CEO of EDVOS, an organisation that provides critical services to women and children in the family violence sector.’

Chris commenced in the role of CEO with Vicdeaf in September 2012 and has overseen significant challenge and opportunity during a time of unprecedented change, especially as we have transitioned to the NDIS.

Chris has indicated that her decision was not easy and was made with mixed emotions, because she is so passionate and proud about our work, our clients and community.

We will have time for a farewell but I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris for her impact, achievements and her advocacy in better outcomes for our clients and our community.

Chris’ last day with Expression Australia will be on Friday 17 April.

We will be engaging a recruitment company to undertake an executive search to find our new CEO and further details about the opportunity will be provided soon through our social media networks.

We will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
