Deaf Regional Health Advisory Board - EOI

1 April 2021

What is Deaf Regional Health?

Deaf Regional Health (DRH) is an ILC funded project. It aims to ensure Deaf and hard of hearing people (DHHP) can access health services in regional Victoria and Tasmania in a way that meets their language and access needs. This is to be achieved through research with key stakeholders including the community to inform the design, pilot and implementation of sustainable intervention models.

The project roadmap has been planned in 3 phases:

  1. Research and discovery
  2. Codesign and evaluation framework
  3. Pilot and evaluation

In the research and discovery phase, we have been working with several Health Services, meeting with people who are Deaf and hard of hearing and speaking with interpreters and other significant stake holders.

We are currently nearing the end of phase 1. The project is due to be complete by April 2022.
