Our Rainbow Project is excited to announce three upcoming Midsumma events they are involved in! Midsumma is Australia's premier queer arts and cultural festival. This year the festival is running between 23 January and 13 February, with Midsumma Pride March on Sunday 6 February.
Midsumma Carnival is an annual event that marks the opening of the Midsumma Festival. The carnival is at Alexandra Gardens on Sunday the 23rd of January.
We will have our own stall under the name Rainbow Expression and will be at the carnival until 5pm.
We will also be providing light food and drinks for a Deaf and HoH only lunch from 1pm - 2pm.
70% of the Midsumma Carnival program will be interpreted by Auslan Stage Left and we will also have interpreters available at our stall.

The Midsumma Pride March will be taking place on the 6th of February on Fitzroy Street in St Kilda. The Pride March is a significant annual event for the LGBTQIA+ community.
This year the Rainbow Project is involved and will be welcoming Deaf and Hard of hearing LGBTQIA+ people to join us.
There will be an opportunity for the community to discuss and consult what our group should look like e.g. clothing, posters and flags etc, in the parade.

On 13 February 2022 Melbourne will celebrate the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Victoria. To celebrate this 40th year anniversary, the Victorian Government and Midsumma have organised Melbourne Pride - A Road to Pride. This event will see Gertrude Street, Smith Street and Peel Park transformed into a festival.
The Rainbow Project was invited to have a stall at this event.
