Teaching Auslan as part of the curriculum

"There is currently a national shortage of interpreters, there is roughly 30 thousand signing deaf people who rely on Auslan interpreters in Australia and there is only 300 credited, qualified interpreters across the country."

Deaf, Auslan Lecturer at La Trobe University and qualified Deaf Interpreter Ramas McCrae with interpreter Mark Quinn met with Richelle Hunt on the ABC's Conversation Hour. Following the interview, Mark has made an Auslan interpretation of the whole broadcast to provide access for the Deaf community.
