Executive Interpreter

Your New Role:

  • We strive for a bi-lingual workplace at Expression, which means we need to provide access to everyone and enable staff to communicate in their language of choice.
  • This is a prestigious role that facilitates the language access needs of the CEO, General Managers, Board, and broader staff of Expression.
  • The role provides Auslan-English interpreting services to internal and external stakeholders to support the day-to-day activities of the organisation and its strategic objectives.

This position is available as x1 full time position, or x2 part time positions (with the added option of a mix of Executive and Community work available) or flexible working arrangements.

The recruitment process

  • We want to meet you ourselves and make sure we’re a good fit.
  • You’ll be contacted for an initial conversation. If we’re a match, you’ll be invited to an interview with our recruitment team and the manager you’ll be working with.
  • From there, we’ll make a shortlist of candidates.

About you

  • You are a NAATI Certified Interpreter who’s adaptive, positive and flexible.
  • You enjoy working in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to build strong relationships and purpose driven.
  • We are also keen to hear from you if you are a Provisional Certified Interpreter ready to take on a new challenge!

Have you done this stuff before?

  • 5 or more years’ experience interpreting in a broad range of settings including professional workplace environments
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to adapt communication to a wide range of audiences
  • Knowledge of the Victorian and Tasmanian Deaf community and Expression Australia services
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative approach
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Well organized with excellent time management skills
